OPCC Covert Surveillance Guidelines Released
On May 27, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPCC) published on its website final guidelines on covert surveillance. Items of note:

Guidelines are effective immediately,

Third party information must be deleted or depersonalized “as soon as is practicable”,

Companies must have a formal documented covert surveillance policy, and
-
Records must be kept for each instance of surveillance.
